Healing & changing

It really isn’t until your 20’s or even later for some people, where you honestly begin to understand the depth and effect that past moments have had on shaping who you are, the way you act, your behaviours, who you attract- all of that stuff. I think it’s one of the saddest things that for years we can live a life being a certain way/ certain things happening and we don’t have a bloody clue why. It’s also sad that when you get to your 20s and you realise that things might just be a little bit fucked, it’s a killer and you then have to carry this heavy burden around where you’re constantly aware of yourself and past actions. It’s uncomfortable being honest with yourself about things, particularly things in the past- but it really is the best chance you’ll get at ever changing or making things better. It really is a form of self torture ignoring all the red flags in your life for temporary moments of happiness.

It’s so easy to ignore who you really are in this day and age, there’s so many distractions and toxic/ destructive behaviours that have become extremely normalised. You’ve got to discover who you really are - even if you realise you’ve spent a lot of time being a shitty person, they’ll be a reason for your behaviour and you’ve got to challenge and conquer that past version of yourself. Bad things happen to everybody but it’s what you choose to do with that information in the present time. We spend so much time in shitty situations and cycles in life being completely blind to why they’re always happening because we choose to be blind and think short-term pain isn’t worth long term happiness. Being aware of who you are confidently and knowing what toxic situations to avoid & being able to be your own best friend is just the most important thing if you genuinely want a fulfilled life.

Sometimes the reality we create isn’t true or isn’t the reality that’s meant for us. Why do you fear change when that’s what life is supposed to do. Why do you create unhealthy attachments to behaviours/ things/ people? It’d be such an amazing world if everyone would actually understand they need to heal and fall in love with themselves completely. Nobody would settle for anything less than they deserve and life would be full of meaningful moments not just temporary distractions.

I hope you read this and understand you have everything inside of you now to truly be happy with yourself and your life- realising moments don’t define who your are or how you feel, shit just happens. Nothing should be powerful enough to effect who you are or how you go about living your life- you should be the most powerful thing in your life.
