The OVERTHINKER in isolation.

I feel like most of these terms will be quite broad- overthinking comes in different ways for everybody and about different things. If you are an overthinker, your worst fear is having to be at home with yourself and your mind, especially when we don't know how long this is going to last. It might feel like this is a time where things seem to be going wrong- whether you've lost your job, things have been cancelled or the pandemic itself is just making you worry (a bit more than usual) all this extra time to think and without many distractions means you'll be spending more time in your own head ever than before- so you should try to make it a nice place to be. Overthinking comes from the brain being too loud, every time you run over things, 'problems' in your head  you're only making the situation 1000 x harder than it already is and in most cases you're thinking about situations that haven't even happened yet or about past situations. The thing is, you probably already know this anyway and you put added pressure on yourself for knowing that it's wasted time overthinking any situation- it's important to remember to go easy on yourself, just recognise the feelings that you are feeling, the things that are on your mind quite a lot, I normally do this at the end of the day, before I go to sleep I will write down how i'm feeling/what's been on my mind (not every night though i'm not that productive lol) and although it may feel stupid a first once you physically see on paper what you've been dwelling on it can give you some clarity.

Everything is easier said than done but if you keep reminding yourself, each time you feel yourself slipping into that state of mind (even if you feel like it isn't working at the time) that you should only concentrate your energy to the things in life that you can change you will start to see a change. I want you to realise its normal to feel the way you do about things and not judge yourself for it but just observe it. I've only recently learnt that the constant voice in your head isn't actually supposed to be there and it's come from this constant need to be obsessing over something or solving something in modern society. This whole process takes so much time though so if you ever feel like you're slipping back to old habits you should take that time to be extra easy on yourself. Obviously meditating, foods and exercise can all help the mind especially in finding peace, but I do know that sometimes especially in times like this, things just might not work and you may find you actually need to have a day where you cry and stress but you should always remember that tomorrow is  a new day to wake
up and try your best to make it a better day.

If you practice living in the present moment everyday you will find peace- if you ever feel like your brain is doing 100mph then try to look at objects around you or listen for sounds or just notice where you are and what you're actually doing or what's happening around you.

I know I said i'd post everyday lol but life got in the way, so i'm probably going to make this more of a weekly thing. Hope everybody is doing well and remember to go easy on yourself :) x
